Ayahuasca Preparation
People who intentionally prepare for an ayahuasca ceremony tend to be better equipped to handle the experience and are able to get the most out of their work with plant medicine. By surfacing, uncovering, and talking about personal material ahead of time, you are able to go deeper in ceremony and face less surprises or unexpected revelations. The medicine will always meet you where you are at. If you’ve done inner work before ceremony, have looked at yourself, your history, areas of wounding or pain prior to ceremony, the medicine will take you further. Essentially the more you do ahead of time, the deeper you can go in the ceremony. It makes a massive difference and allows for serious transformation in a much shorter period than is possible in traditional psychotherapy.
The more you do ahead of time,
the deeper you can go in ceremony.
Here are some of the ways I help people prepare for ayahuasca:
Identify and explore the deeper reasons that one feels called to ceremony.
Understand how one’s reasons for ceremony may relate to past patterns, old beliefs, emotional injuries, and traumas from much earlier in life.
Develop clear intentions for what to ask for help with from the medicine
Recommendations for preparing your mind and body for the experience, including recommended homework and preparatory diet
Time-tested tools for navigating the ayahuasca visionary state
Advice on how to handle difficult things that can come up during ceremony
How to make a connection and develop a relationship with the spirit of ayahuasca
Addressing and working through pre-ceremony concerns or fears
